Killing Spam in your Inbox
In an effort to reduce the amount of spam delivered to our users we have incorporated Spam and Ham boxes into Webmail that users can move Spam and Ham into. The operation of moving Spam and Ham into these boxes will train our spam filter called SpamAssassin to more correctly distinguish between what are unwanted emails and wanted emails.
Messages moved into these boxes are irretrievable except by Teradigm administrators. Below are instructions on how to subscribe to these boxes and move messages to either of the categories.
Definitions:
Spam -- Unsolicited Bulk Email - meaning that the Recipient has not granted verifiable permission for the message to be sent. Bulk means that the message is sent as part of a larger collection of messages, all having substantively identical content.
Ham -- Solicited emails where you recognize the sender and approve of the content of the email.
1. Login to webmail at http://webmail.yourdomain.com/ e.g. http://webmail.meteorhosting.com/

2. Click on the "Folders" link.

3. Click on "#Public/Ham" and "#Public/Spam" by holding down the shift key and then click "Subscribe"

4. If you see "Subscribed successfully" and the two folders have been moved into a selection box on the left bottom of the screen then you are finished. Click "refresh folder list" now.

5. If you do not see "Ham" and "Spam" as two new boxes in your folder's list then click "refresh folder list".

6. To move spam messages into the spam folder check the box next to the offending email.

7. After checking the box next to the offending email click the "Move Selected To" drop down menu and select "#Public/Spam" and then click the "Move" button.

8. That's all there is to it. Now the spam message will be picked up by SpamAssassin and learned as Spam or Ham. In an effort to train our Spam filters to recognize Spam from Ham it is necessary to also train SpamAssassin to recognize Ham, which are good emails. Rather than deleting good emails after you are finished with them just move them to the Ham box following instructions 6 & 7, but seleting "#Public/Ham" instead of "#Public/Spam". As our filters receive more and more emails to distinguish between Spam and Ham ultimately Spam will be killed on our email servers and not delivered to your Inbox any longer.
9. Please note that emails that have been moved to either the Public Spam or Ham folders are irretrievable once moved. If you placed a Ham email into Spam accidentally or vice versa simply send support@teradigm.us and email with the basic subject line of the accidentally moved email and where it should have been placed and an administrator will move the message to the proper category or delete it entirely.
